What shippers should know about Tesla Semi range

Tesla rates the Semi Long Range at approximately 500 miles at 82,000 lbs gross combination weight. That is the figure we plan against — not a marketing range measured empty on a flat interstate.
Payload, weather, grade, and trailer type all move real-world miles. We treat the rating as a planning ceiling and leave margin for the unexpected.
Charge windows are part of the dispatch
A long-haul electric run is not “fill it and forget it.” Megawatt charging can recover a large share of range in about half an hour — close to a driver’s required break — but the charger has to be on the route and available.
When we quote a lane we already know where the truck will plug, how long it needs, and whether the pickup and delivery appointments still work if a stall is busy. If we cannot make that plan honestly, we do not take the load.
Why Southeast regional work fits
Atlanta metro and Southeast regional lanes sit inside a single charge for many dry-van and reefer turns. That is where electric Class 8 is already a working tractor, not a demonstration.
Longer hauls are possible when the charge plan is written into the schedule. We will say so on the quote. We will not promise diesel-style unlimited range.
